Dr. Marvin L. Morgan, a Certified Intentional Interim Minister (IIM) and Church Consultant, served as a UCC pastor and interim pastor for 45 years, in NC, NY, GA and TN. During this same period, he also served as a police department chaplain, a county government chaplain, a theological school administrator and a labor organizer.
He welcomes the call (effective April 5, 2017) to serve as Interim Senior Pastor of St John EUCC and looks forward to journeying with the members of St. John as you identify and embrace the tremendous potential that is already evident within this dynamic community of faith. His fervent prayer is that his deep love and commitment to all aspects of local church ministry will soon become evident within St. John and the broader community. Marvin is married to Mae T. Morgan, MD and they are the proud parents of 4 adult children and have 6 grandchildren.
Pastor Katie Jo graduated from Eden Seminary with her Master of Divinity in 2010 and has been at St. John since. She not only likes to talk about God and be challenged in her ideas of who God is, but she especially loves helping others experience God in ordinary life and in new ways. If you know Pastor Katie Jo, chances are she has asked you “Where have you seen God recently?” When she is not at church she is usually with her husband either riding bikes, relaxing with a good book or playing Frisbee with their German Shepherd.
