St. John’s Cemetery

Preserving Family and Community Heritage

St. John’s Cemetery has been serving St. John Evangelical United Church of Christ and the greater Collinsville community for more than 100 years. In April of 1909, the congregation of St. John church decided to establish a “God’s Acre” or cemetery. Today, St. John’s Cemetery has grown to more than 35 acres nestled on beautiful rolling hills in Collinsville. It is the resting place of more than 9,300 individuals and families. St. John’s Cemetery is the choice of those desiring competent and caring services in their time of need.

Paying tribute to a life is a personal decision based on your religious beliefs, cultural heritage, family tradition, financial considerations and individual preferences. We are nonprofit and open to all. St. John’s Cemetery is committed to respecting and celebrating the history of your family, our neighborhood and the city we call home.

St. John’s Cemetery is open and welcoming to ALL people and beliefs. There are options to accommodate a wide range of wishes, traditions and resources.

Our staff is experienced and knowledgeable in the kind of compassionate care people in our community deserve whether making pre-arrangements or at the time of need. As a church-based, non-profit organization, our focus is serving people.

In addition to traditional in-ground burial, St. John’s Cemetery has beautiful granite columbaria for inurnment of cremated remains. Each columbarium is a substantial, hexagon-shaped column of small compartments - or “niches” - designed to hold the remains of a loved one. With the increasing trend toward cremation, this option is an elegant, yet simple and affordable, choice to keep loved ones in a place of commemoration and honor.

The surrounding space has benches and a garden to visit for meditation, contemplation and prayer. The entry was designed with engravable brick pavers which present an additional way to pay homage to those who have passed.

Our cemetery is open and welcoming to ALL people and beliefs.
